The Overwatch League returns once again this weekend with a handful of great matches taking place. The hero pools are set and it seems like the teams who made the move back to South Korea are finally ready as the Seoul Dynasty and New York Excelsior make their debuts in the Asia region following their relocations. What started as the smallest region (four teams) in the league when online play was first announced, has turned into easily the most competitive, filled with some of the best teams in the entire league.

The New York Excelsior once again got off to a great start in 2020. They hosted opening weekend to an incredible, sold-out crowd and fought their way to a 5-1 record in a somewhat lackluster Atlantic conference. With the massive COVID-19 outbreak in New York, the team relocated back to South Korea (as their entire roster is South Koreans) and waited to get back into the swing of things. It will be interesting to see how they deal with the wacky tactics of the Chengdu Hunters in their first match since their hiatus.

The Seoul Dynasty have the least amount of games under their belt after relocating to Los Angeles earlier in the season due to the outbreak in South Korea. Once things settled down there, they relocated back to South Korea as the outbreak happened in Los Angeles. The Dynasty looked unstoppable in their two 3-0 victories against the Los Angeles teams and are arguably the best team in the league. The Dynasty have a chance to live up to the hype against the Shanghai Dragons this weekend. The Dragons have separated themselves from the other teams in Asia and like the Dynasty, are one of the best (if not the best) teams in the league.

Only one team remains left waiting to play again, the London Spitfire, after also relocating to South Korea. They announced they would resume their matches beginning in May, though. With the Vancouver, London, New York, Seoul, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Shanghai making up the Asian region of the Overwatch League, the region has become the premiere spot for incredible matches, featuring some of the best teams in the league.
