The first trailer for No Man’s Sky Origins recently dropped online, and is set to introduce an astronomical amount of new content, from brand new planets, to landscape overhauls, to a whole new range of weird alien fauna. Also, alien worms and volcanos.
You can check out the official No Man’s Sky Origins trailer for yourself in the video embedded below.
The new Origins update was also described in detail over at the official No Man’s Sky blog.
“Update 3.0, Origins, dramatically expands the universe of No Man’s Sky,” reads the blog post. “Explore a stranger, richer and more varied universe, with deeper planetary diversity, dramatic new terrain, a host of new creatures, new weather conditions, colossal buildings, and much more.
According to the post, the Origins update introduces millions of “untouched” planets, all of which have their own distinct flora, fauna, and landscapes. From marshes to volcanos, to behemoth alien worms, Origins brings an impressive suite of new material with it.
The post is also quick to confirm that although these new areas are ripe for exploration, the atmospheres of existing worlds haven’t been tampered with, meaning that the bases you’ve already built won’t be affected by the arrival of Origins.
The Origins update comes with a variety of quality of life enhancements, too. The game’s interface and menus have been completely revamped with new colours and styles, while the colour palette for No Man’s Sky as a whole has also been enhanced in order to offer more variations in aesthetic than ever before.
If you want to read through all of the changes yourself, you can do so by visiting the blog post linked above — although I must warn you that it is almost extraordinarily long, describing each and every one of the new features implemented as part of the Origins update in laborious detail.
No Man’s Sky Origins is available for purchase now, and is playable on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
