With much of the world’s economy having shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems as though it is starting to open back up in parts, which now includes Nintendo Tokyo.
The store had shut down during the crisis in order to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, along with many other establishments of different types. However, while it will be opening back up, it appears as though the store will be applying different procedures moving forward.
According to Nintendo Soup, the store will reopen on June 1, though entry into the store will be a little different. Whereas consumers were free to enter and exit the store as they please, they will now have to place an online reservation in order to gain entry into the store. Tickets can be reserved at LivePocket.
Reservations can be placed from May 28 to June 6 and can be redeemed from June 1 to June 7.
It is unclear whether the reservation system will stay in effect past June 7 or if Nintendo Tokyo will resume pre-pandemic operations with social distancing measures.
In either case, many places seem to be taking proper precautions where gatherings of potentially large groups of people is concerned. Hopefully, the plans laid out will have a positive effect going forward.
