The wacky 8-bit style zombie shooter Deadly Days is preparing to lock & load onto the Nintendo Switch later this year. The Switch version will have all the same features of the PC version, allowing you to claw into this rogue-lite zombie apocalypse survival game wherever you go. Keep your sights on the Nintendo Store for when the Deadly Days digital download becomes undead.

Deadly Days developer Pixelsplit Games and publisher Assemble Entertainment have also released the massive PC update version 1.5, titled “Fly Me to the Moon.” According to the press release, the update brings in a variety of gameplay balances, zombie-slaying enhancements, and a shambling horde of new content.

Included with the 1.5 update is a new crafting feature that allows players to have their in-game survivors build various workshop rooms where powerful weapons can be made. Additionally, a new mission type, Hardware Store, has been added, that will test your strategic zombie apocalypse survival abilities while you recover and make use of a range of random weapons against the mob zombies.

The new Hardware Store mission type answers the question “what are all those doors in my base for?” that players have been asking since Deadly Days launched. According to the 1.5 update changelog, the new mission allows you to build rooms behind those doors that will give you a diverse set of bonuses. For example, build a mechanic room for automatic weapon repairs, a greenhouse for a regular supply of apples, or a satellite uplink that’ll give you access to an orbital strike laser. But, of course, you’ll need the proper materials and tools to build these rooms, which can mostly be found by making a supply run to the new hardware stores. So gear up!

With the newly added workshops, you’ll be able to craft some truly unique new custom weaponry. You can choose from three key weapon types, then use specialized tools to modify them, leveling them up to boost their damage amount.

The Fly Me to the Moon update 1.5 encompasses a large number of new items, powers, and off-the-wall characters, which are shown in the new update video and are detailed fully in the official changelog. You can also track new game info by following Pixelsplit on Twitter. Deadly Days is currently available for PC on Steam and GOG.com.
