So many games, so little time!

Of course, that’s a good thing (and any ‘problem’ that comes with gaming is certainly of the First World variety), but it’s also a quandary facing every gamer these days. Even if you have the money to afford every console (which you probably don’t), you certainly don’t have the time to play every game that comes out. You probably don’t even have the time to play all the games you want on the console (or two) that you do own!

If you already have a backlog of games you need to play, look out; Nintendo is about to dump even more onto your pile. Whether you’re an early adopter of the Nintendo Switch or still playing your trusty 3DS, the gaming giant has plans to keep you busy well into 2018.

The Japanese gaming giant will spend the new year continuing to strengthen the fledgling Switch with new titles, both from their own incomparable development teams and popular third party studios. And even though the Switch has become Nintendo’s de facto portable system, the 3DS hasn’t been forgotten, as that platform has a number of new games on the way as well.

From lesser known titles to new entries in their most famous franchises, Nintendo has a lot of games planned for 2018. Here are 15 Nintendo Game Sequels You Didn’t Know Were Coming In 2018.

15 Dragon Quest XI

Good things come to those who wait. At least, that’s the mantra that North American gamers repeat to themselves when waiting for Japanese games like Dragon Quest XI to be released in the west.

The popular RPG franchise has been going strong since the 1980s, and the 11th installment (Echoes of An Elusive Age) was released this summer for the 3DS and PlayStation 4 in Japan, with European and North American releases slated for next year. A Switch version of the game is also planned.

Fans of the series can look forward to another game filled with turn-based combat, vibrant and colorful landscapes to explore and charming, cartoonish enemies when they get their hands on the game in 2018.

14 Kirby Battle Royale

13 Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom

12 Kirby Star Allies

Switch gamers won’t be left out of 2018’s Kirby festivities thanks to the release of Kirby Star Allies. Unlike Battle Royale, Star Allies is a platforming game in the classic Kirby tradition. Like most Nintendo platformers, it’s a sumptuous visual feast, filled to the brim with color and painfully cute characters.

True to its name, the game revolves around turning enemies into allies by throwing hearts at them. At any given time, Kirby can gather three allies who will traverse the landscape with him, and the always adaptable puffball will mimic their skills. He can also utilize his new allies for devastating double-team moves.

The game also features a surprisingly buff King Dedede, a development that amused the gaming internet to no end.

11 Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology

10 Shin Megami Tensai: Strange Journey Redux

9 Jake Hunter Detective Story: Ghost Of The Dusk

8 Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Dead Heat Breakers

Nintendo’s platforms have always been home to some unique (some might say crazy) games, and Dillon’s Rolling Western certainly fit that bill. Released in 2012 for the 3DS Virtual Console, it cast players as Dillon the armadillo, a ranger who roams (or rather, rolls) the desert protecting settlers and dealing out justice to walking rock monsters called Grocks.

The unique mix of exploration, combat and tower defense coupled with the game’s bizarre cast of characters proved popular with gamers, and a sequel, The Last Ranger, followed in 2013. 2018 will see the release of a new game in the series, The Dead Heat Breakers. It hasn’t yet been confirmed for a North American release, but there’s no reason to think it won’t be coming here at some point.

7 Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

6 Super Meat Boy: Forever

5 Shovel Knight: King Of Cards

4 Attack On Titan 2

Attack on Titan is a hugely popular (and occasionally disturbing) franchise. Would you want to live in a world filled with naked giants that try to eat you? I don’t think so!

The new game will be set during the second season of the popular anime, and it will build off of the success of the first game, which was released last year and followed the story of the show’s first season. As the hero Eren (or any of the other 10 playable characters), players battle the impossibly large titans, using their speed and wits to outsmart them and hack away at their giant frames. Naturally, titans come in all different shapes and sizes, and you need to think fast and change up your strategies to keep from getting pulverized (or worse).

3 Pokémon For The Switch

When it comes to timeless and beloved franchises, Nintendo is clearly the envy of the gaming world. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox… the list goes on. Pokémon is yet another such franchise that can only be experienced on Nintendo platforms (not counting Pokémon Go, anyway). The Switch is still in its infancy, but fans don’t have to worry as a new Pokémon game is on the way for the new console.

Not a lot is known about the new Pokémon title yet, though rumors suggest it will be called Pokémon Stars and will combine the 3DS titles Sun and Moon. Those games were a hit for that platform, so it would make perfect sense to bring them to Nintendo’s newer, more powerful console.

Whatever Nintendo has in store, Pokémon fans will probably be happy.

2 Yoshi

1 Metroid Prime 4
