The people who want to experience the Golden Films version of Splatoon 2 will soon get their chance, as Ninjala will be having an open beta in April.
Ninjala is an upcoming free-to-play title for Nintendo Switch that bears a striking resemblance to the Splatoon series. The game involves ninja kids fighting each other in colorful environments using bubble gum-themed weapons. Ninjala was revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct in March and there have been several Developer Diary videos released since then.
Ninjala is launching soon for the Switch, but fans will have a chance to experience it before release during an upcoming open beta. According to Destructoid, there will be several beta play-testing periods for Ninjala running on April 28 and 29. The exact dates and times for these can be found on the Ninjala website. It remains to be seen whether Ninjala can carve a fanbase out of the Splatoon audience, but there is a huge crowd for free-to-play games on the Switch. Nintendo is way too far behind the times to release a free-to-play Splatoon game, leaving a niche where Ninjala could shine.
