Ninjala has been chugging along over its first two seasons, drawing in millions of players and steadily growing with new content, which includes the Sonic the Hedgehog crossover that’s going on now. And with all of the new content coming in the next season, it will likely be able to maintain that momentum.
In its latest developer diary video, GungHo Online Entertainment confirmed that Season 3 will run from October 29 to January 7, 2021. Over that two-month period, the developer will introduce several new features to Ninjala, with the first big addition being a new Spectator Mode that will let players watch Battle Royale and Team Battle matches from both overhead and individual perspectives.
Following that, GungHo will introduce a new stage called Croissant Arena, which will be set in a French-inspired stadium and feature a greater degree of verticality than other stages. Season 3 will also bring two additions to Ninjala’s selection of weapons, as well as a new Ninjutsu, Gum Shoot, and Special attack. These will be accompanied by more items for players to purchase in the in-game shop, along with non-consumable weapon skins, one of the game’s most highly requested features.
Other requested features coming next season will include non-combat areas, an increase in the number of Favorite Kits that players can save, and improvements to Ninjala’s matchmaking. What’s more, Season 3 will feature the game’s next collaboration, as Japanese pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s hit “Ninja Re Bang Bang (Steve Aoki Remix)” will be available to purchase as an in-game background track. Finally, GungHo confirmed that the season will see the launch of Chapter 2 of the game’s Story Mode and the fourth episode of its anime web series.
Ninjala is free-to-play for Switch.
