Image Quality That Wows

To recap

The Coolpix A is a roller-coaster ride from love through to loathe: when on point its pictures are exceptional, but it’s the getting there that hinders this pricey compact camera. Slow autofocus that’s not always accurate and a manual focus system that’s not as detailed as some competitors make for an experience that’s not quite where it should be. The pictures almost make that forgivable, but the near-£1000 Coolpix A, in its first incarnation, feels like the initial building blocks towards brilliance rather than the total package. Picture quality? - Yes. Performance? - Not really.
