In a move we should have all seen coming, Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 3 antagonist Nicholai Ginovaef will be added to Resident Evil: Resistance as a mastermind next month. The constantly name-changing madman that hates Jill will be heading into the multiplayer title with his own unique B.O.W.’s and skills…just we don’t actually know what those are.
When Capcom revealed the roadmap of content updates to Resistance earlier in the month, it showed off very little of what was coming. With this new update, we’ve only learned that Nicholai is coming and not what he’ll bring. Everything past that is also still unknown, which is baffling. Why not just release more information at once?
Despite all the vagueness, it’s nice to see Capcom is willing to stick with Resistance. Some people are having problems with matchmaking and netcode issues, but it seems likely that Capcom will begin to address those concerns. With none of these updates being paid DLC, it’s also a great way to entice players back for more.
Now if only we could get some kind of crossover with Resident Evil 2 going. Having Leon and Claire fighting alongside Jill would be a fan dream come true.
