With the recent update the mastermind Nicholai Ginovaef brings his weapons expertise and the terrifying Nemesis to Resident Evil Resistance.

It’s been a few days since the update, but players are already discovering that Nicholai is a dangerous force to be reckoned with in Resistance. As a Mastermind he has a greater emphasis on camera-mounted weaponry and the ability to track survivors through the walls. This makes him fun for players operating as the Mastermind as he’s much more hands-on and a nightmare for survivors who must prioritize taking out his cameras quickly.

But the real danger of Nicholai is his signature ability: summoning the Nemesis. The Nemesis seen in Resistance is a far different beast from the one in Resident Evil 3 Remake. For one, it is only ever seen in it’s base humanoid form and doesn’t go through the various transformations like it does in the Remake. That being said, this doesn’t make him any less terrifying in Resistance.

According to The Sixth Axis, the Nemesis is similar to the Tyrant or G-Birking, but has more ranged weapons at his disposal such as his tentacles. Players in control of the Nemesis can use a fearsome roar to stun survivors and then obliterate them in one fell swoop with his rocket launcher.

Between the terrifying Nemesis and the arsenal of weapons at his fingertips, Nicholai is a powerful foe that uses his mercenary training and experience to full effect. He’s a great hands-on Mastermind that with his Nemesis makes being a survivor in this game all the more terrifying.
