This news should come as no surprise to those who have followed the game closely, which has supposedly been targeted for a 2014 release window for next-generation platforms. Along with with the next Mass Effect game and Battlefield 4, the next-gen Dragon Age will utilize the brand new Frostbite 3 engine, which would make it a great tool to demonstrate the graphical prowess of both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Expect to see a trailer, gameplay and more at E3.

Despite BioWare’s co-founders retiring a day after the game was announced, the studio evidently hasn’t lost focus on the 2014 release. The second Dragon Age garnered a fair amount of criticism from fans in comparison to the first, so Inquisition has the task of winning back the trust of hardcore fans. After the Mass Effect 3 ending controversy, and the mixed success of Star Wars: The Old Republic, it’s a task that almost seems small in comparison.
The plot of the newest Dragon Age is set to bring the world to the brink of destruction, with Orlais torn into Civil War, the Chantry divided, and general rebellion all across the realm. After a meeting of peace is sabotaged by a magical attack, it becomes clear that someone is purposefully leading the world into chaos - and it’ll be up to the player to stop this from happening.
BioWare has remain tight-lipped about further details from Dragon Age 3 (even the plot information came from a previous leak). They haven’t commented on the article listing, which is likely because they’re cooking something up for E3 2013. We’ll let you know as our own inquisition pokes at more information.
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition is expected to release in 2014, and will likely appear for the the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U.
