Tintin has long been one of the most popular comic series in Europe. The comic had a very popular movie released in 2011, but now a brand new Tintin video game is in development for PC and consoles.

The action-adventure is being developed by Moulinsart, as French publisher Microids has announced. Microids published Blacksad: Under the Skin, which won best action-adventure at Gamescom 2019, so perhaps Tintin is in the right hands moving forward.

Just as Tintin’s adventures in his comics are frantic and fun, the video game is set to be a “whirlwind of situations and suspense,” according to the game’s description. Classic characters like Tintin’s pup Snowy, Captain Haddock, detectives Thompson & Thompson, and Professor Calculus will all make appearances.

The entire crew made an epic appearance 2011’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Many fans of the original are hoping for a sequel, with Andy Serkis offering to step in for Peter Jackson as the director of the follow-up. Perhaps this new game will stand in its place for the time being.

Time will tell if Tintin will become one of the best action-adventure games out here, but the series is beloved by many. It certainly has an Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and Uncharted-type feel that could work perfectly.
