The new Stories from the Outlands video showcases how Blisk got Rampart into the Apex Games.
Season 6 of Apex Legends arrives next week and with it comes a brand new character. Rampart is shaping up to be Apex Legends’ Bastion thanks to her terrifying, high-capacity machine gun and pop-up shield ultimate ability. At least, that’s what we’re assuming based on previous datamines and the latest Stories from the Outlands video.
Oh, and Blisk is back too.
In the video below, we get a good look at what Rampart was up to just prior to her introduction in the Apex Games. The gunsmith appears to have had her own shop and even had some high-profile customers in the form of Bangalore and Gibraltar. Rampart and Bangalore even seem to share a friendly rivalry, with Gibraltar noting that Rampart might even be the better shot of the two.
After her friends leave and Rampart starts closing up shop, a mysterious gang shows up to cause trouble. Rampart has no difficulty dispatching the random thugs, but she has a bit of a problem with a dual-wielding robot that appears soon after a lady wearing a mask shows up at her door.
This is where we get to see what should be Rampart’s ultimate. She stabs a button, raises an energy shield, and then grabs a giant chaingun to take out the robot. Afterward, she’s knocked out by one of the thugs she’d left unattended to deal with the robot.
Sadly, her store gets torched and the thugs leave her to burn inside. This is where Blisk shows up to save her while offering her a new job in the Apex Games.
It’s been awhile since we heard from Blisk. The South African mercenary appears in Apex Legends’ opening cinematic to hand the player the same red card that he hands Rampart to invite her to the Apex Games, which seems to confirm his status as the ringleader of this whole operation.
As for Rampart, the latest video introduces a mysterious woman that seems to have it out for her. Who is she, and why’d she torch her gunshop slash bar? We’re sure to find out in Season 6, which starts August 18.
