New Harry Potter domain names have been registered, creating further speculation that the heavily rumored Harry Potter RPG game is about to be announced. These domain names also lead to speculation that a larger Harry Potter event, similar to the DC Fandome, will be announced soon.
Four different Harry Potter URLs have been registered. They are “wizardingworldfandome,” “harrypotterfandome,” “fantasticbeastsfandome,” and “portkeygamesfandome.” Portkey Games is the new game studio set up by Warner Brothers to create Harry Potter video games. However, the only Harry Potter titles that the studio has been a part of three mobile titles.
The Fandome is an online event Warner Brothers is using to promote DC Comics in place of Comic-Con this year. The next Batman game is rumored to be announced at DC Fandome, among other DC projects. Having a Harry Potter Fandome similar to the DC Fandome makes sense if Warner Brothers want to announce huge Harry Potter projects. Hopefully, the Harry Potter game is among these big announcements.
Before E3 got canceled by COVID-19, the rumors were that WB Games would present at E3. At this rumored event, WB Games would announce the new Batman and Harry Potter game. COVID-19 canceled live events around the world, and game studios have scrambled to create online events to promote upcoming titles. Warner Brothers have found their place to announce new movies and games in place of regular events like Comic-Con and E3.
It’s been a strange year for WB Games. They released Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, an expansion to Mortal Kombat 11. They reportedly had their first E3 event canceled, where the new Harry Potter and Batman titles were ready to be announced this year. WB Games is reportedly being put up for sale by AT&T for $4 billion.
There hasn’t been a console Harry Potter game since 2013. If what is being reported on the game is true, then the new RPG has a pretty good shot at being the best Harry Potter game of all time. While there is no announcement date for the Harry Potter Fandome, the event might happen shortly after the DC Fandome.
