At times, it feels like there are a ton of Marvel-related video game projects in the works that we are unaware of, and this often proves to be true. For example, the Game Awards 2018 kicked off with the surprise announcement of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, and fans are still eagerly awaiting news concerning the Avengers Project. And now it seems there could potentially be a Fantastic Four game currently being developed.
For the uninitiated, we do know for a fact that there is another Marvel-related game currently in development. Second Dinner, an indie studio made up of former Hearthstone developers, recently announced that they had received a license to work on a Marvel game. Of course, very little is known about the game, but it could be the new Fantastic Four game that Marvel is teasing on Twitter.
If not, then this could very well be one of those projects we are unaware of. But Marvel Games, the official source for all Marvel-related game projects on Twitter, recently changed its profile image. Coming shortly after the announcement by Second Dinner, this change seems like it could be related to the new studio’s project, and as seen below, the letter “A” is replaced by the number “4.”
Moreover, from January 8 to January 16, the Fantastic Four World’s Greatest Week event will be going on and promises to show what’s next for Marvel’s first family. Whether more is learned at this event or if this supposed Fantastic Four game is actually tied to Second Dinner remains to be seen, but hopefully, fans won’t have to wait long before the reason for this mysterious logo change is revealed.
Taking this all into consideration, a Fantastic Four game would likely be well-received at this given juncture. With properties such as the first family and X-Men returning to Marvel’s cinema thanks to the Disney-Fox Deal, the Fantastic Four could very well be returning to the big screen and would greatly be bolstered by a well-developed game, related or not. It also doesn’t hurt that the Avengers Project is seemingly being drawn out, though the director has recently stated that he is excited to share more concerning the Marvel title.
