A few weeks ago, a leaked Destiny 2 cinematic revealed major repercussions for Forsaken and potential story beats for Black Armory. But thanks to one eagle-eyed fan, we now know there’s more than meets the eye in this cutscene. Those who have yet to see this cutscene should be forewarned that this article contains MINOR SPOILERS, but here is how to legitimately unlock the cinematic in-game.

By now, many know this cinematic sees the rebirth of Uldren Sov at the hands of a Ghost. This means Uldren has become a guardian, likely has no memory of the events of Destiny 2: Forsaken, and may feature another prominent role in forthcoming DLC or the threequel to the franchise. However, one fan noticed something strange about the shadow cast by Uldren’s body.

In fact, the shadow does not match Uldren’s body whatsoever, but instead, it seems to be a silhouette of the now-deceased Cayde-6. Cayde-6’s death is what drives players on their revenge mission in Forsaken, and while this may be a simple easter egg tribute, it’s one Destiny 2 fans may very well enjoy.

On the other hand, it’s entirely possible that this shadow was not intentional and not meant to depict Cayde-6. Some fans have argued about the light angle or Uldren’s feet, but at the end of the day, Destiny 2 fans can believe whatever they wish. After all, they are also likely too busy with the newest Forge to open and obtaining the Butterfly Key.

Taking all of this into consideration, it’s hard to pass a solid verdict on whether or not the tribute was intentional. Even if it wasn’t intentional on Bungie’s behalf (which is hard to believe) and even if it is Uldren’s shadow making the horn, it does look incredibly similar to Cayde-6’s head. Still, while this may be a simple Easter egg, the cinematic as a whole has some serious implications to deal with, potentially in Destiny 3, especially if the associated leaks prove to be true.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
