The iconic Death Stranding jacket worn by Norman Reedus’s Sam in-game is now available in the real world. Well, was is the appropriate term, given that the whopping $1,900 jacket is already sold out across the board. The extremely versatile and futuristic outerwear was made in partnership with Acronym, a German high fashion brand known for its post-apocalyptic science fiction aesthetic, and designed by the Weather Station handler himself, Errolson Hugh.
Death Stranding is among the few games that doesn’t shy away from using real-world brand imagery. From Monster energy drinks to French eye-wear icon J.F. Rey, the post-apocalyptic in-game world of Death Stranding is littered with real-world objects.
Thus, Kojima Productions and Acronym’s newest product, the Gore-Tex jacket, is here to further the connection between the world of Death Stranding and the real world. It may not keep the Timefall or BTs away, but it sure will keep its wearers warm and cozy. With a myriad of pockets, panels, and adaptable versatility, it’s honestly no wonder the jacket is already sold out, even despite the €1,753 price tag. The outerwear comes littered with the iconic in-game Bridges porter seal and even has a small pod-like carrying case for the wearer’s phone and wallet.
