Treyarch is still pumping out content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, critics and the impending release of Modern Warfare be darned. A July 30th update post focused mostly on two things that have seen success in recent Call of Duty years: zombies and battle royale. Or rather, it teases those two things. While there is the usual change of playlists and modes this week, the big news is that more zombie things are coming soon.
As announced by Treyarch in a Black Ops subreddit, a new zombie mode will be hitting console versions of the game on August 6th. It continues the Operation Apocalypse Z event by zombifying the game’s various modes. Blackout, the battle royale mode, will get Pandemic. Apparently it will be like an 80-player version of the popular Infected mode, or as Treyarch puts it “rules have changed from ’last squad standing’ to ’last survivors on Earth against an endless swarm of undead at the end of the world.'”
