Publisher New Blood Interactive made a splash at this year’s PC Gaming Show, impressing fans with an in-your-face presentation style.
If Twitch’s tens of thousands of viewers is any indicator, The PC Gaming Show 2020 has already generated tons of interest. However, fans were notoriously hard to impress throughout the opening hour of the show – with the exception of New Blood’s zany 6-game showcase. Arriving just before the stream’s 1-hour mark, the publisher had plenty of energetic, action-packed gameplay footage to flaunt.
The trailer featured gameplay from DUSK, AMID EVIL, MAXIMUM Action, Unfortunate Spacemen, ULTRAKILL, and FAITH – all on top of an upbeat electronic soundtrack. Game shows can be infamously slow-paced, so fans seemed to react positively to the fresh, fast-paced presentation.
Following the well-received segment, Day9 (this year’s beloved PC Gaming Show 2020 host) briefly interviewed Dave Oshry, New Blood’s CEO. “Some guys come here, they show you some f*ing cinematic trailer and then tell you it’s coming out in a year. We got 6 games and you can play them all right now.” In line with their aggressive, blunt gameplay trailer, Oshry used an honest, informal approach – and we loved it. “There’s all kinds of crazy st.”
Aside from FAITH, the other 5 titles focus on fast-paced, FPS violence. And to wrap it up, many of their games’ domain names are absolutely hilarious. You know a publisher has some personality with websites called “shootyboom.com” (for MAXIMUM Action) and “notfortnite.com” (for DUSK).
In a Twitch chat that was filled with “ResidentSleeper” emotes, it was impressive that New Blood Interactive was able to transform the mood into an army of hopeful “PogChamp” reactions. Keep an eye on this publisher, because they’ve clearly got the right ideas in mind.
