Inspired by the Netflix Emmy-winning series, DreamWorks Trollhunters Defenders of Arcadia will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 25th. Outright Games, Universal Games and Digital Platforms, and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe are bringing DreamWorks’ animated series to the realm of video games featuring the original voices from the show, including Emile Hirsch, Charlie Saxton, Lexi Medrano, and David Bradley.
The Tales of Arcadia trilogy is comprised of Trollhunters, 3Below, and the upcoming new series, Wizards, coming to Netflix later this year, telling the story of the town of Arcadia Oaks and the magical traits it possesses, complete with trolls, aliens, and wizards. DreamWorks Trollhunters Defenders of Arcadia will tell a new, original story that takes place within the three worlds, ultimately bringing them all together.
As players progress throughout the Trine-like platformer, they’ll be able to level up their armor and become more powerful to take on increasingly tougher enemies along the way. Players will also be able to take on the action together as their favorite characters in the game’s local co-op mode.
Outright Games is a solid provider of family-friendly games, and it looks like DreamWorks Trollhunters Defenders of Arcadia is poised to be another solid addition to its catalog.
“DreamWorks Trollhunters Defender of Arcadia will take players on an intriguing and authentic new adventure that showcases the series’ key pillars of friendship, loyalty, and fantasy,” stated Jim Molinets, SVP of Production, Universal Games and Digital Platforms. “Expanding on the bold and creative story that has delighted fans for years, the game brings to life the vivid world of Arcadia Oaks in fun and surprising ways.”
“We are immensely honored to be involved with the franchise in such an integral way,” added Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games. “The Tales of Arcadia trilogy is a stand out in the world of streaming content, from the incredible talent involved to the breadth of content in the series. To have our game be a part of this and to work with a developer as renowned as Wayforward to bring it all together is a dream come true for us.”
