Netflix is making a Dragon’s Dogma anime series, and it’s finally shown it off. This is one of several major video game adaptations being worked on by Netflix, which is also home to the hugely popular The Witcher series.

Fans of action RPG game Dragon’s Dogma got a surprise when Netflix off the Dragon’s Dogma anime series, which will be available on its platform from September 17, 2020. A tweet from the official Dragon’s Dogma account confirmed that the series would feature a new Arisen named Ethan and a pawn named Hannah as the two of them try and get Ethan’s heart back from the Dragon.

The Dragon’s Dogma anime is part of what seems to be a larger Netflix plan to turn every game into a series. Last month, CD Projekt RED announced that Netflix is making a Cyberpunk 2077 anime called Edgerunners, though this show will not be available until 2022. Netflix also has a Castlevania series which has been running since 2017. The platform must see huge success and potential money in making shows that gamers will love.

However, some Dragon’s Dogma fans will want more, such as a sequel to the original game. While the game was released on current-gen platforms as Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, no sequel has been officially announced. The success of a Netflix series could potentially change that though and fans will want it to do well.

Dragon’s Dogma will be available on September 17, 2020, on Netflix.
