NetEase is responsible for some of the biggest titles in the mobile arena. From Tianxia III to the Westward Journey franchise and their partnership with fellow industry powerhouse Blizzard, the Chinese company seems to be unstoppable. Now they promise to bring an RPG to challenge the biggest names in the business to the table.

The issue with mobile games, for many players, is that they’re sometimes a little throwaway. A quick distraction to tap away at for a few minutes while you’re in the bathroom or waiting for your train. As mobile gaming has become more and more of a force to be reckoned with, though, these perceptions need to be revised.

Which brings us to NetEase’s newly announced RPG. As Pocket Gamer reports, it’s to be an open-world title with a Norse mythology bent. Are you getting nervous yet, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Well, we’re probably not talking about a open world on that scale, but the game currently going by the working title of Project Ragnarok is going to be a triple threat; a mobile title that seems to be coming to PC and console too.

It’s certainly an impressive prospect, as this footage/Tweet thread from Niko Partners’ Daniel Ahmad makes clear:

If you’ve been looking for a mobile title that you can really sink your teeth into, Project Ragnarok is definitely one to keep an eye on.
