NBA 2K21 cover athlete Damian Lillard will have two unreleased rap songs feature as part of the upcoming title’s soundtrack.
The Portland Trail Blazers superstar was recently announced as the player who will be the face of 2K21 and, given that he’s quite polished as a rapper apart from being one of the elite players in the NBA, fans will come across some of his music while playing the game.
Lillard, who goes by rap name Dame D.O.L.L.A, views this as a “huge accomplishment” and he’s right to think so.
“To be on the cover alone is a big deal to me, but to be on the cover & also have my music be a part of the game is a huge accomplishment as well,” he told Clutchpoints.com’s Ryan Ward.
You could head to Spotify to listen to the soundtrack via the link in the tweet above. Lillard has also previewed one of the songs - titled “Did to It” - on TikTok.
Lillard released a single called “Home Team” earlier this month in which he spits bars on “family, friends, and loyalty.”
“Home Team’ is one of my favorite songs that I written,” he said, per NBC Sports. “It’s just about my family. That’s what I’m most invested in right now, it’s not creating the fortune for myself to have to take care of people, it’s holding my family accountable to figure out what it is that they want to do, what type of career they want to have. What they want to do, so I can sponsor that and try to help them move into a better direction of what they want to do.”
The point guard is currently camping out in the NBA’s isolated location - what they refer to as a “bubble” - ahead of the league’s season resumption at a Disney resort in Orlando, Florida.
He’s nursing a foot injury but isn’t expected to be out for very long.
