Your Nintendo Switch is about to get dirtier than it already is (we know your secrets), except this time around, it will be from actual dirt.

Earlier this week, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Rainbow Studios announced that MX vs ATV All Out will be racing onto Nintendo’s portable console on September 1, 2020.

The off-road racing title - which is already available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - will be making its way to the Switch with all of the modes that fans of the game already love, including Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Waypoint, and Freestyle competitions. Players will also be able to compete against each other in two-player split-screen and 8-player online multiplayer, while outfitting their riders and garages with the best gear and high-end vehicles that fans of the franchise have come to expect.

As exciting as it is that MX vs ATV All Out is coming to Nintendo Switch, expectations should be tempered, as, generally speaking, most Switch ports end up receiving a fairly significant graphical downgrade to run on the portable device. It’s hard to imagine that MX vs ATV All Out will look better on the Switch compared to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.

However, the Switch will allow players to get behind the wheels of bikes, ATVs, and UTVs in a more accessible, on-the-go way than having to sit in front of a stationary console or PC. MX vs ATV All Out will no doubt bring in fans who might not otherwise play the game, while being an awesome portable option for current owners who just can’t get enough of the off-road action that they love.

Not much else is known of the port to Switch besides the release date, but the release would be a great opportunity to provide a new game mode or in-game feature on the Switch, incentivizing players even more to pick up the title when it releases this fall.
