Most Played Apex Legends Character Revealed By Respawn

With 12 different playable legends to choose from as of season 4, Apex Legends has to have one or more that constitutes the game’s meta.

And the question of who exactly these characters are was answered by Apex Legends’ general manager Dusty Welch and game director Chad Grenier in a recent interview with Game Informer. However, fans may find that the duo’s response isn’t as cut and dry as they might expect.

Apparently, the character that reigns supreme depends more on the situation than on just raw power alone. For instance, according to the duo, both Wraith and Pathfinder clock in as the most selected characters in regular matches. However, when it comes to professional picks, Welch claims that Caustic holds the number one spot, especially when players enter the final areas.

Grenier also notes that both updates and game types affect the meta. He said that in the Winter Express game mode, Gibraltar was the favorite pick and that competitive play sees Wattson a lot, but her popularity died down with nerfs. All in all, characters currently on top now can always fall to someone else later. It’ll be interesting to see how the meta shifts when Apex Legends’ Season 5 rolls around.
