Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is the newest Mortal Kombat movie, releasing digitally on April 14th and Blu-Ray on April 28th. A clip released by Warner Bros. Entertainment shows off Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Lui Kang, and Raiden.

In the scene, Johnny Cage is meeting the warriors entering the tournament and introduces himself with a condescending tone and an inflated ego. Johnny Cage is voiced by Joel McHale, who is known for his snarky hosting of The Soup, and plays Jeff Winger in the popular sitcom Community. McHale has also hosted the Spike Video Game Awards, and voices a character in the LEGO Dimensions video game.

Cage is able to hit on Sonya Blade, make fun of Lui Kang, and call Raiden their “Merlin” all in the minute clip. Every interaction in the clip seems very accurate to the Mortal Kombat story and may follow the same plot as a Mortal Kombat reboot that is planned for 2021. Based on the clip, the animated movie will follow the warriors in their quest to win the tournament against Shao Khan.

The original Mortal Kombat came out in 1995, and the reboot looks to improve upon the original after 25 years. The original was just added to Netflix on April 1st, and the animated movie, Scorpion’s Revenge will release on April 14th.
