While details about Mortal Kombat 11 are still slim, the game’s reveal trailer did confirm that a Switch version of the title would be made available alongside releases on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Indeed the promise of a portable Mortal Kombat experience is likely to have many fans excited, however several recently updated retail listings suggest that the Switch version may be delayed.

That said, it is not unheard of for Switch versions of games to be delayed past their PlayStation 4 and Xbox One counterparts, lending some credibility to the idea that the release of Mortal Kombat 11 on Switch may have been slightly pushed. Last year, for example, the Switch release of Dark Souls Remastered saw a significant delay, releasing five months later than initially planned.

If ultimately the release of Mortal Kombat 11 for Switch does fall victim to a delay, it does not appear that it will be a sizable one. Hopefully, this won’t be too big a blow to players that simply cannot wait to perform fatalities on the go, and then some character reveals at Thursday’s event may be enough to put it out of their minds completely.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently scheduled to launch on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
