If there is one thing that developer NetherRealm Studios knows how to do, it’s fan service. Mortal Kombat 11 was already chock full of callbacks and nods to the past, but this latest bit of cosmetic DLC is absolutely one for the fans. In the new “Klassic MK Movie Skin Pack,” players can dress up Sonya, Johnny Cage, and Raiden in their costumes from the 1995 movie of the same name. Not only will they look like their respective cinematic incarnations, but the actors have even returned to voice these new skins.
About the only downside of this DLC pack is that it isn’t included with MK11 Aftermath or Ultimate. That is likely due to contractual obligations from the actors or some messy behind-the-scenes business. It might be a bummer to have to shell out more money on top of the money you’re already spending, but this does seem to be worth it.
The major upside is that players now have the option to play as a Sonya that’s not voiced by a terrible actor/person. I’ll never understand why Ronda Rousey was selected, but I guess you gotta get that star power from somewhere.
