Mortal Kombat 11 just received its big Aftermath expansion, which adds three new DLC characters to the game along with a variety of features and some new story content. While it seems as though Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath could very well be the popular fighting game’s swan song as NetherRealm focuses on its next games, there is some evidence to suggest that it will be getting at least one more DLC character at some point down the line.

Dataminers have dug through the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath files and found evidence that Sektor will be coming to the game as a DLC character. Interactions have been added to Mortal Kombat 11 for Sektor and every other character on the roster, which seems odd if NetherRealm doesn’t plan on adding him as DLC. Then again, it’s possible that NetherRealm planned to add Sektor as DLC to Mortal Kombat 11, only the character to ultimately be scrapped.

Sektor wouldn’t be the only character with interaction dialogue found in the Mortal Kombat 11 files only to never make his debut. Dataminers found similar evidence that Evil Dead’s Ash Williams would be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC, but now it seems as though those plans have fell through.

If NetherRealm does release more Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters, it will be interesting to see if it’s done as a single release or through a Kombat Pack 2. Prior to the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath announcement, many fans assumed NetherRealm would be releasing Kombat Pack 2, though nothing of that sort has ever actually be announced.

Perhaps if there are still plans to add Ash to Mortal Kombat 11, maybe he and Sektor could be part of the supposed Kombat Pack 2. That’s just speculation at this time, though, and if Kombat Pack 2 ever does materialize, it remains to be seen what other characters could be part of the lineup.

It’s hard to say if a Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 will ever happen, and it’s also unclear if Sektor is actually coming to the game. Considering this, Mortal Kombat 11 fans should keep their expectations in check, and focus on the new content, like Stage Fatalities and Friendships, while they wait for news on what’s next from NetherRealm Studios.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
