It is without a doubt that NetherRealms Studios’ Mortal Kombat 11 is one of 2019’s biggest fighting games that is still popular today. Now, the studio announced an upcoming post-launch story expansion for the game called Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, which is set to release digitally on May 26th. The DLC will be re-introducing Klassic Stages in the game, which is something that fans have been asking for ever since the release of Mortal Kombat 11 last year.

In the announcement released by Mortal Kombat publisher Warner Bros. Interactive, it has been revealed that Mortal Kombat 11 players will have access to new stages with Aftermath, including the return of the Klassic Dead Pool and Soul Chamber arenas. Additionally, these new stages will also be accompanied by Stage Fatalities, which are fan-favorite finishing moves that allow players to use the environment to decimate opponents in the most brutal way possible.

The good news is, although Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath requires a separate purchase that will cost players $39.99, the Stage Fatalities and the popular Friendship feature will be available for free to all Mortal Kombat 11 players, with or without Aftermath. Additionally, NetherRealms Studios is also offering a bundle to new Mortal Kombat 11 players, which combines Aftermath with the previously released Kombat Pack 1 for $49.99.

To the uninitiated, Kombat Pack 1 introduces six new fighters in MK11’s roster including Shang Tsung, Nighwolf, Terminator T-800, Sindel, Joker, and Spawn. Additionally, Kombat Pack 1 includes a number of premium skins together with six themed skin packs that include the popular Klassic Arcade Ninja Skin Pack, and Klassic Arcade Fighter Pack among many others. Kombat Pack 1 by itself is usually priced at $39.99, so new MK11 players are better off taking the deal that includes Kombat Pack 1 and Aftermath in one sweet package.

Apart from the free features that will be available to all Mortal Kombat 11 players when Aftermath is released, players who will purchase the upcoming DLC expansion will receive three new playable characters that include Fujin and Sheva both of which will be added to the player’s roster, and the rumored RoboCop who will serve as a special guest star. Interestingly enough, RoboCop will be played by actor Peter Weller who portrayed the character in both the original 1987 film and its sequel, RoboCop 2, that was released in 1990. As of the moment, no other DLC characters were announced by NetherRealm, but players can expect three new character skin packs to be included in Aftermath.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will launch on May 26, for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
