The Mortal Kombat series of fighting games has been around for more than 25 years, eventually evolving into a full-blown franchise featuring films, comic books, a television series, and even a card game! One of the more recognizable characters is Kitana, the ten-thousand-plus-year-old Princess of Overworld and sister to the evil, possibly psychotic Mileena. Her unique character design makes her an ideal character for cosplayers, especially those who are already fans of the Mortal Kombat series, to test their skills with.

Here are 10 of the most skilled Kitana cosplayers; if you like their work, make sure to check out their social media profiles at the provided links.

10 LeticiaFariaCosplay

Leticia Faria Cosplay rocks this take on the Edenian fighter, giving a passing glance to her surroundings while exercising total control over her composure and demeanor. The costume, based off Kitana’s default look in Mortal Kombat X, looks great and accentuates her imposing appearance. The hair is amazing and the props are well-designed.

The photography, by Vagner Rezende, is also super high-quality - something that’s important to cosplayers nowadays as more and more begin to post their work online.

9 Sophie Valentine

Sophie Valentine Cosplay borrows two of Kitana’s looks, her newer one from Mortal Kombat X and her classic one from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 respectively, to create a stunning cosplay with a touch of glam. The costumes are both excellent, colorful and realistic while still matching up with their video game counterparts, and the photography (done by Nanigu) is clean and professional.

Valentine does an excellent job of modeling the character overall, right down to the silky black hair and showy poses.

8 Meiko Inoe

Cosplayer Meiko Inoe definitely pulls off this admittedly more opulent portrayal of Kitana than what we’re used to, using bright, similarly-toned colors and a stylish costume. Interestingly, the cosplayer’s lavish black hair, cleverly-crafted fans, and almost bored expression all match Kitana’s in-game persona.

Meanwhile, Nikita Parhomenko’s top-notch photography definitely heightens the quality level.

7 Anastsya Zelenova

Anastasya Zelenova mixes things up with not one, but two excessively detailed costumes for her Kitana cosplay. The images on the sides were photographed by Alexander Turchanin, while the one in the middle was photographed by oltaura and edited by alicenevermind. The cosplayer’s poise is picture-perfect, the photography is great, and the costumes are top-notch; even the lighting and visual effects are worthy of praise.

All in all, this is a deserving cosplay that earns its spot on this list through the creator’s effort and creativity.

6 Jaycee Cosplay

Jaycee Cosplay absolutely owns this breathtaking Kitana rendering with an air of self-assured bravado. The game-inspired outfit, designed by Hiwire Costumes, looks amazing and delicately blends gradients to give off a clean color aesthetic, the props are designed fairly well, and some elements (like the mask and the hair) look like they were lifted straight out of the game.

The camera work is done exceptionally well, courtesy of photographer cantera_image.

5 Cashmere_Tart

Instagram user Cashmere_Tart came up with this unbelievable Kitana cosplay, based on designer Justin Murray’s concept art of the character. Photographer Stephen Segal helps his subject stand out with astounding focus, and the costume utilizes textures and colors quite well.

Meanwhile, the cosplayer gives us a decisive raised-eyebrow look while wielding her beautifully patterned war fan.

4 KimChi Cosplay

KimChi Cosplay’s first-ever cosplay was as Kitana, and this elaborately styled costume was the original design. For its part, the costume is splendid and works well with the cosplayer’s vision of the character.

Also, the props are high-quality and KimChi does a great job of channeling Kitana’s energy into just a few single frames, in part because of Mike Rollerson’s top-tier professional photography.

3 xXanemonaXx

xXanemonaXx designed this entire cosplay almost solely by herself, a feat that’s being seen less and less in the cosplay community as purchasing costumes becomes the new normal.

It’s an amazing cosplay, too; the hair is perfect, the props are meticulously designed with precise attention to detail, and the camera work by Naricosplay is executed with sumptuous subtlety.

2 Analu Sauceda

Cosplayer Analu Sauceda takes on one of Kitana’s most famous costumes for this fashionable portrayal of the character. The photography, which is done by Ivan Ivanovich Lara, is excellent and gives the cosplay a more professional feel, especially with the beautiful forest backdrop.

Smaller details like the props and hair are equally impressive as well.

1 Yaya Han

Yaya Han is one of the most popular cosplayers in the world, part of the rare group of cosplayers who’ve been able to move past it being a hobby and actually make a name for themselves in the increasingly lucrative business. Known for her exceedingly intricate costumes that take even the most minor of details into account, she absolutely destroys here cosplaying as Kitana in Mortal Kombat X.

Her sheeny black hair is perfectly styled to match Kitana’s, while her recreation of the character’s outfit is incredible beyond belief (by the way, more details about the design and layout of the costume can be found here). Veteran photographer Brian Boling does his job with skill and creativity and gives the already fancy cosplay a little bit of an added spark.
