Itch.io’s Bundle For Racial Justice & Equality has already surpassed $5 million in funding and is well on its way to $6 million.
It’s been several weeks since the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department sparked worldwide protests against police brutality, and while some progress has been made, our patented nation-wide scanner has determined that racism has yet to be extinguished. More work is needed, and that means, more money is needed.
Thankfully, Itch.io is here to help. Last week, they released what is probably the best bundle to ever come from the indie gaming site. Over 700 items were initially placed on sale for just $5. This included indie titles like Night in the Woods, Minit, A Short Hike, and Quadrilateral Cowboy, but also game assets, pen & paper RPG sourcebooks, and soundtracks.
All proceeds went to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund so that arrested and/or assaulted protestors could receive legal representation. And within a few days, Itch.io had raised over $2 million.
But Itch didn’t just stop there. The Bundle For Racial Justice & Equality remained open for other indie developers and game makers to add their products to the pile. Now, this $5 bundle has grown to include over 1,600 items with a total estimated value of $9,095. That’s an incredible deal, and it’s all going to help perhaps one of the most worthy causes we can think of.
New items include a PDF of Lancer Core Book: First Edition, Sky Rogue, Kenney Game Assets 1, Overland, and indie darling Celeste. There’s no reason for you to NOT buy this incredible deal and have more games than you could ever play in a single lifetime. Frankly, you’ll probably spend more time just searching through this massive library of games than you will be playing it.
Itch is now sitting at $5,434,162.08 in raised funds as of the time of this writing and is aiming to break $6 million. They’ve got a little less than four days to get here, and that means you’ve got less than four days to snap up this bundle. You’ve got every reason to buy and literally no good reasons not to.
