Leaves are falling, days are darker, and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is celebrating the imminent arrival of Halloween by dressing Palicoes as Frankenstein. The newest trailer for the update contained Fatalis, Arch-Tempered Velkhana, and a look at some exciting new armor sets.

Capcom’s ’title update 5’ - called The Final Stand - will arrive October 1, and deliver Fright Fest goodies to indulge in before the trick-or-treating begins. The last free update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will see the arrival of the Legendary Elder Dragon Fatalis, accompanied by an arch-tempered version of Velkhana with a theme to turn anyone’s blood cold. Fans of the series can also expect to see a Halloween event arrive with the new patch, that will bring new event quests and themed costumes to flaunt in battle.

The new armor sets from the fifth title update will include a Buff Body, Kadachi Scarf and Demonlord layered armor for Hunters. The Demonlord set will come with a Frankie Set for Palicoes, that give your feline comrades a grinning Frankenstein mask to wear, with a purple outfit and shackles. The Demonlord armor is particularly impressive and fitting for the upcoming season, that provides your Hunter with a gothic outfit, fur collar cape and red, glowing eyes for extra effect.

The update trailer promotes the Halloween themed event Fun Fright Fest that will begin October 15, where players will be able to craft the Demonlord Alpha Set during this period. Seliana’s Lunar Terrace will host the Fun Fright Fest, where more Special Palico Equipment can be forged from quest rewards. New decor, Guild Card titles, backgrounds and poses will be added when players join the Seliana Fest, that will allow you to use a new skin for your pet Poogie.

Monster Hunter players can also expect to receive new Hunter armor sets, thanks to a collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, that will bring a collaborative quest to players around the world. Capcom’s decision to team with Universal Studios - rather than another game franchise - may be designed to give the theme park a boost after a tough year for the industry.

The final event for Iceborne’s 1 year anniversary will be available until tomorrow, titled The Cold Never Bothered Me, that gives a subtle nod to a snow queen from very distant lands.
