Players that have been looking forward to Monster Hunter World might be familiar with the USJ Azure Star long sword and Palico gear. These players are probably also aware of the fact that these items are only available in Japan. However, there is a way to get them, even if players don’t live there.
Capcom has added these items to Monster Hunter World exclusively for players who visit Universal Studios Japan. However, with a few clever tricks, even those who don’t have access to the necessary quest via a visit to Japan can still collect its loot.
Players who visit Universal Studios Japan get a code that unlocks the necessary quest that gives them the ability to get these items. With the loot acquired from the quest, players can craft the USJ Azure Star long sword and Palico gear. This quest is a two-step process, albeit with some complications. The first step allows players to craft the Azure Star Blade long sword and the Azure Star Palico set. The second step for this USJ Event Quest is the tricky part, predominantly because it’s not available yet, even in Japan. However, here are all the details on how to obtain these items, even before the second step releases:
How to Get the USJ Azure Star Long Sword and Palico Gear:
Since this particular quest is not available anywhere outside of Japan, it will not show up on the Quest Board. The only way to activate this quest is to find another player who already has it. Players can do this is by filtering the Quest Board to only show Event Quests, which will narrow down the search and allow players access to the USJ: Gold Star Treatment quest. This quest may take some time to join, but once players are in, they will be able to hunt three Great Jagras.
After hunting all three of these Great Jagras, players will receive Azure Star Shards. Players will need six of these shards to obtain the long sword and Palico gear but it may take several attempts at the quest to do so.
Once players have enough of the Azure Star Shards, they are able to go to the Smithy to craft the weapon and gear. Since only the first part of the quest is available, this is all that players can get until the next part releases with, hopefully, the hunter armor set and upgrades for the long sword and gear.
Until then, players can enjoy getting these exclusive items without having to buy a plane ticket to Japan.
Monster Hunter World is out now for PS4 and Xbox One with a PC release slated for Fall of 2018.
