Monster Hunter: World is filled with rare items that have many players investing hours into the game, and while Fucium Ore isn’t a flashy weapon, it’s definitely one of the helpful items in the game.
Luckily for players on the hunt, Fucium Ore is found in a lot of optional quests that can be repeated as many times as you like. Even if Elder’s Recess is your twisted idea of a break from fighting monsters, mining ore can deliver just as much loot.
10 Fucium Ore Use
While it’s incredibly rarity is enough to draw the curious hunters in, Fucium Ore is also a great money maker if you’re willing to put in the effort. If money isn’t a worry, it can also fuse most metals together and make crafting a lot easier.
It can also upgrade well over 50 items in the game, including weapons, charms, and equipment. It’s wide stretching use is the reason hunters can sell it for so much and why it sits in one of the least forgiving areas in the game.
9 Elder’s Recess
One of the most hostile environments in the game, Elder’s Recess is the only area that players can gather Fucium Ore, braving the volcanic landscape and hunting down the fiery monsters inside. Only retrieved from Blue mining outcrops throughout the area, it may take multiple digs to be successful.
Players have to be careful roaming the area, Extreme Heat is a serious problem in sector 7,10,11,12, and 13. Forcing players to either upgrade the Heat Guard skill or carry a Cool Drinks with them at all times.
8 A Meow For Help
After players unlock the Elder’s Recess area, this slaying quest becomes available if your Hunter Rank is above 13. Sending players out on a hunt for a group of Gastadon, the quest is only beaten you take out 13 of the small monsters.
Be wary though, don’t let the small size fool you. As soon as you get into any kind of range they will become hostile right away, giving players little chance to prepare. If you make it through, Fucium Core will show up 15% of the time, quickly filling your pockets.
7 A Scalding Scoop
Trying to find a group of Wingdrakes shouldn’t be too much of a task if your eyes are kept at the sky, just head head to sectors 2 and 9. Hunter Rank 13 is the cap again, making sure you can handle the 5 Barnos’ that are needed.
Players will have to shoot them with a slingshot in order to get their attention, be ready for the diving attacks. Another 15% shot at Fucium Ore, an Elder’s Recess specialty.
6 Gajalaka Lockdown
Players will have to visit the Meowscular Chef to activate this quest, a standard 13 HR will be required. The Gajalaka, Monster Hunter’s answer to the Ewok, defeating 10 of these will comes with multiple rewards, including Fucium Ore.
While you won’t get the satisfaction of actually defeating them, once they retreat underground they leave behind one of their many tools. Sector 8 is the best place to look for them, though they are available in 3,6, and 11 during this quest.
5 Lavasioth, Monster Of Magma
A level up from the smaller monsters on the list, Lavasioth is one of the largest and most aggressive enemies in the Elder’s Recess. Hunting the beast isn’t as simple as landing damaging blows, players also have to survive the extremely hot environment during the fight.
Keeping a good amount of cooling items on you is a key point, otherwise the heat will slowly take you out before Lavasioth gets a fair shot. Luckily, the monster has its fair share of weaknesses that most hunters at level 13 should be well equipped for.
4 Ore-Eating Occupier
The hunt for the Uragaan isn’t too different from Lavasioth except it roams around a much larger area. Wandering through sectors 2,5,6,7, and 8, the tank lizard shouldn’t be too hard to spot.
Taking it down needs some patience as it covers the battlefield in exploding bombs between attacks, making landing any damage a complicated maze. The hefty reward is well earned and a chance at Fucium Ore is the cherry on top.
3 Ruler Of The Azure Skies
While players have dealt with flying monster before, the Azure Rathalos is bigger than most group hunters and comes with a price tag to match. While most of the time being father away from the monster is safer, this ones a lot more effective when in the sky.
Figuring out its patterns and hitting it at the right time will ground the beast and take away all of its combinations, turning the difficulty down a few notches. Luckily, this target can be found all over the Elder’s Recess except for area 3.
2 Bazelgeuse In The Field Of Fire
While it’s not the biggest payout in Elder’s Recess, it’s definitely the most impressive monster. Starting turf wars with other large monsters from the sky and dropping explosive scales to take them out, hunter are going to have their hands full with this one.
Before this quest unlocks players will have to take down the Odogaron, proving their worth for the challenge. It’s so aggressive that finding it as simple as attacking another large monster, drawing it closer to the fight. The smart bet is to attack its head or tail, its weakest points but also the most intimidating.
1 Dodogama Drama
Finishing off with a simpler monster after all the chaos, the Dodogama isn’t nearly as intimidating as some of the other large monsters in the area. In fact players can find it munching on rock in sector 7,8, and 9.
While it isn’t even hostile until attacked, it is first monster with a blast attack hunters will run into. It ends up being the highest level hunt that can give you Fucium Ore while also being one of the calmer hunts. It’s also the only quest that only gives the player a 12% chance at the Ore.
