Monster Hunter Rise has players gearing up and fighting all manner of beasts that exist in the world outside of Kamura Village. The player’s Hunter can capture or kill vast monsters, use what they find to craft the ultimate Monster Hunter gear, and save Kamura Village from the dangers that assail it.
However, that’s all stressful and frightening, and, sometimes, a Hunter needs to just sit back and fish for a bit. Fishing is a far more peaceful pastime than fending off The Rampage, so today’s topic will focus on fishing and the best spots located throughout the world of Monster Hunter Rise.
10 Frost Islands Zone 3
Frost Islands Zone 3 fishing spot can be found a short way northwest of the camp in the Frost Islands area. This is a spawning location for the next spotlighted rare fish, the Speartuna. The Speartuna is used to forge and upgrade items in Monster Hunter Rise.
This fishing spot can also be a spawning location for the Combustuna and the Whetfish. Great Whetfish, Scatterfish, and Sushifish can be found here too, though they can practically be found in every fishing spot in Monster Hunter Rise.
9 Frost Islands Zone 11
Frost Islands Zone 11 is a fishing location in the underground section in the northwestern-most location in this area. This is a significant spot because the rare King Brocadefish can be found in this fishing spot. It is an account item that can be turned in for points at Kamura Village.
Other than the King Brocadefish, the Frost Islands are a scarce fishing spot, only offering the Combustuna and Whetfish in addition to the above-mentioned fish that can be found at all fishing locations.
8 Outside Sandy Plains Camp
There is a fishing spot just outside the camp in the Sandy Plains area that serves as a good fishing spot. Notably, a Great Flamefin can spawn here, which is a rare fish that, when mixed with herbs, can be used to make high-quality gunpowder. Furthermore, the Great Flamefin can be found here even while on a low-rank mission.
In addition, regular Flamefin, Crimsonfish, Goldenfish, Popfish, Whetfish and Goldenfry can be found here.
7 Sandy Plains Zone 8
This is another Sandy Plains, this time located underground and just north of the center of the map. The Great Flamefin can also potentially be found here, but it’s also the spawning location of another significant fishing find: the Great Gastronome Tuna. It is another account item that can be turned in for points back at the village.
Being another Sandy Plains fishing spot, the Flamefin, Crimsonfish, Goldenfish, Popfish, Whetfish, and Goldenfry can also be fished up at this spot.
6 Shrine Ruins Zone 13
Shrine Ruins Zone 13, located at the farthest northwest corner of the Shrine Ruins map, is a significant fishing spot because it’s a potential spawn location for the rare fish known as the Big Combustuna. It’s a variety of fish that can be used by the Hunter to make a lot of gunpowder, which is a vital resource in their monster hunting quest.
In addition, regular Combustuna, Goldenfry, Goldenfish, Popfish, Crimsonfish, and Whetfish can be found in this zone—in addition to the obligatory Sushifish, Scatterfish, and Great Whetfish.
5 Lava Caverns Zone 10
The Big Combustuna can also be found in Lava Caverns Zone 10. This fishing spot is underground and located just east of the center of the map.
This is also a good fishing spot for the regular Combustuna, Whetfish, Flamefin, and Brocadefish can be found in this fishing spot. It’s also a potential spawning location for the Great Flamefin too.
4 Lava Caverns Zone 3
Another Lava Caverns fishing spot, the Lava Caverns Zone 3 fishing spot can be found above ground at the western-most point on the map. This is another fishing spot that can produce the Speartuna, the useful forging and upgrading fish.
It’s also a spawning ground for Combustuna, Whetfish, Flamefin, and Brocade fish as well as the rare Great Flamefin too.
3 Flooded Forest Zone 5
The Flooded Forest Zone 5 fishing spot is on the eastern border of the map just northwest of the large structure in Zone 3. It is a spawning ground for a different kind of rare fish, the Platinumfish. This is another account item that can be turned in for points by the Hunter.
In addition to the Platinumfish, the Crimsonfish, Flamefin, Goldenfish, Goldenfry, and Popfish can be fished up here too. It’s also a potential spawning ground for the Great Flamefin and Great Gastronome Tuna.
2 Shrine Ruins Zone 6
The fishing spot in Shrine Ruins Zone 6 can be found in the far west of the center of the map. It’s another spawning ground for the valuable Platinumfish that can accrue account points for the Hunter.
Being a Shrine Ruins fishing spot, it can also provide the Combustuna, Goldenfry, Goldenfish, Popfish, Crimsonfish, and Whetfish.
1 Lava Caverns Zone 1
Finally, there is the Lava Caverns Zone 1 fishing spot, which can be found above ground just north of the narrow cavern in the southern area of the map. This is a valuable fishing spot, as it can be a spawning ground for two of the rarest fish in the game: the Speartuna and the King Brocadefish. The former can be used to forge and upgrade gear, and the latter is another account item that can be turned in for points. This is the only fishing spot where both can be found.
In addition, Combustuna, Whetfish, Flamefin, and the regular Brocadefish can be found here as well as the Great Flamefin. Plus, the Sushifish, Scatterfish, and Great Whetfish can be found at this location too, like just about every other fishing spot in Monster Hunter Rise.
